​Comenzaremos/We will begin our dance residency with Havana Social Dance Club in a few weeks. We will start with Kindergarten, grades 3 and 5, on October 30. The dance recital is scheduled for November 2 during the day; you will receive communication through your teacher and in the future Sabes Que. Grades 1, 2, 4 and 6 will start their residency on December 11. Their dance performance will be part of the Winter Concert on December 18 during the day. We appreciate our School Council for funding this great opportunity to support our Physical Education and Spanish cultural program. 

En/On October 31, students are welcome to wear age and content-appropriate costumes. We ask that students not bring masks or toy weapons. This day will continue to be a regular teaching and learning day. As a result, please know there will be no classroom celebrations or food festivities connected with Halloween/Dia de los Muertos. We ask that candy or treats not be sent to school to share. 

​Como resultado de/As a result of the increase in student numbers, staff and parents at School Council support increasing current School Assistant hours and hiring two additional School Assistants (one for English and one for Spanish support). The new hires will be dedicated to increasing Kindergarten to Grade 3 support. As shared in our School Council meeting, school assistants are hired in our school to support small groups academically, not to help the teacher with cutting, display, photocopying or any other tasks that volunteers could help with. The process of hiring new School Assistants should take a few weeks. In addition to the new School Assistants, we will hire an additional lunchroom supervisor to support the early grades lunchroom program.​​​
