Desde/Since 2018, Escuela Glenmeadows School has proudly participated in the annual Calgary Elementary School Mathematics Contest, organized by the Department of Mathematics and Computing at Mount Royal University. This year’s competition brought together 3,431 students from 48 schools across Calgary, making our students’ achievements even more remarkable.
Por Segunda vez/For the second time in our school’s history, four Glenmeadows students earned Certificates of Distinction by placing in the top 25% of all contestants. Even more exciting, for the very first time, two of our students were recognized as the top individual winners in the entire competition!
A huge congratulations to our outstanding mathematicians:

- Jack (Grade 4) — Certificate of Distinction
Estamos/We are incredibly proud of these students for their dedication, perseverance, and exceptional achievement in mathematics at the 14th annual CESMC. Their success reflects not only their hard work, but also the commitment of our outstanding Division II teachers, who continuously provide rich learning experiences and opportunities for students to grow, excel, and showcase their talents throughout our city.
Esta semana/This week was also a special time to celebrate the many volunteers who make our school community so vibrant and supportive. Yesterday, we proudly honoured more than 60 valued volunteers with heartfelt student performances and delicious food lovingly prepared by our staff. Their time, care, and generosity help create meaningful experiences for our students every day, and we are deeply grateful for all they do.
Mientras tanto/Meanwhile, excitement continues to build across the school as our Kindergarten, Grade 1, and Grade 3 students prepare for their upcoming music performances and Latin American countries sharing sessions with parents. Students and staff have been working incredibly hard, and we look forward to showcasing their creativity, learning, and enthusiasm with our families and community.

SCHOOL UPDATES
CRAZY HAIR DAY
On Thursday, May 26 we invite students to partake in our school-wide Crazy Hair Day. We welcome all students' creativity and uniqueness and celebrate our school's diversity.
SPRING CONCERT
Our Spring Concert and Classroom Celebration of Learning will be taking place on Thursday, May 28th. There will be 2 performances to allow space for all family members to attend. The concert schedule will be:
AM Kinder and Grade 3 classes - 10am - 11am
PM Kinder and Grade 1 classes - 2:20pm - 3:30pm
Doors will open 20 min before the performance.
If your child has a sibling participating in the Spring Concert, they will be invited to attend. Students will be called prior to the concert and asked to sit at the front of the stage.
When visiting your child’s classroom, we kindly ask that you maintain a quiet presence in the hallways to respect other classes that may still be in session.
If you would like to pick up your children after the concert and classroom celebration, please proceed to the main office. Your child(ren) will be called and dismissed from there.

FALL 2026 CASINO VOLUNTEERS REQUIRED - NOV 7 & 8
Every two years, Escuela Glenmeadows is granted a casino fundraising night! Our next one is slated for Q4 of 2026. The funds earned from this event support a variety of programs for the students at Glenmeadows. We use the money for: residencies, equipment for sports, arts, STEM, AV equipment, a new gaga ball pit, and so much more! The goal of the casino fundraiser is to offer our kids additional learning opportunities and subsidies programs run by our amazing school staff.
This fundraiser raises a considerable amount of money... north of $80,000!
Casino Information:
Date: Saturday, November 7 and Sunday, November 8
Location: Cowboys Casino (underground parking included)
Times: see this link for the available shifts
The volunteer list needs to be submitted to AGLC by mid-September, so please pick your shift early.
This is a great way to meet other parents in the school and engage in some adult conversation :)
A meal credit is provided for all the volunteers.
If you are concerned about not being familiar with casino activities, we have you covered. AGLC mandates that we hire very knowledgeable advisors that will walk us all through the requirements of each role, both prior to the shift starting and during the entire 2 day event. The only requirement is a valid ID.
