Principal’s Message
Queridas familias:
There are number of remodeling building projects happening at our school. These projects will allow us to serve students and staff well and continue to be proud of our building.
· Parking lot surface regrading
· Small kitchen in the workroom
· Modular exit wall, doors and stairs
· Windows and walls in grade 3 classrooms and
· Some classroom and wall area painting
Our school funding came a little higher than anticipated. As a result, we are fortunate that our school structures will remain as planned. We can consider extra adult support to enhance teaching and learning. We can share our plan for the little extra funding received by next week.
Our students love making announcements in both English and Spanish. I love how students ask if they can make announcements; it shows confidence and pride in speaking Spanish and English and keeps everyone well-informed about our busy little school.
Our students have begun to give the Certificado de Reconocimineto to staff and volunteers. They are increasing their capacity to recognize how adults in the building care for and support them in their daily school lives. This past Thursday, the Calgary City Police constables who supported us with our practice school lockdown were touched by being the recipients of the Certificado de Reconocimiento our grade 6 students gave them. They said they had not seen this care and recognition of their work in other schools.
Our facility operator, Sr. Allan’s last day was yesterday, and he successfully attained a job much closer to his home. We respect and support his decision and wish him all the best! Everyone will undoubtedly miss his excellent work standards to keep our school clean and in great working order.
Next Friday is a PD day. Teachers will engage in best practices around student self-regulation, Mathematics and Literacy best practices. This capacity building will aid our school in attaining the best teaching practice to reach our Writing School Development Goal focused on “writes to express information and ideas” in both English and Spanish.
Tengan un lindo fin de semana.
Sr. Suarez

Halloween Dance & Food orders
FOOD ORDERS
Thank you to all who have registered and purchased their pizzas through their Healthy Hunger account!
A quick reminder: Saturday is the final day to place your pizza orders for the dance, so please be sure to do this as soon as possible. Once the ordering period closes Saturday evening, we will not be able to accommodate any additional requests. Please note that there will be no cash sales for Panago at the event; only snacks and drinks will be available. Additionally, any pizza orders that do not match a registered ticket will be refunded. We are currently reviewing the order list.
DANCE ENTRANCE
While we want to welcome everyone to our event, we must adhere to our ticketing plan for safety and fairness. Unfortunately, we will need to turn away anyone who arrives with more guests than the number of tickets registered under their name. This measure ensures the safety of all participants and respects those who wanted to attend but couldn’t secure a ticket. Please note that if you are not accounted for on the registered list, you will not be admitted.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. We look forward to a fun and safe event!

Parent Engagement Night | Nov 21
We look forward to seeing you there and working together to make Glenmeadows even better for our kids!
Parent Council is thrilled to present the Virtues Project at our Parent Engagement night on Nov 21. The Virtues Project is an excellent resource for parents focused on raising good humans. The Virtues Project is a global initiative that started in 1991 and its core belief is that every child is born with innate virtues. Through nurturing and guidance, these virtues can blossom, helping them develop into compassionate, responsible, and respectful individuals. The five strategies of the Virtues Project give you a strategic approach to parenting that not only resolves conflicts but also strengthens family bonds, fostering open communication and mutual respect. If you want to learn how to help your child foster respect, compassion, and integrity, to enhance both academic success and personal growth, then this engagement night is for you!
Free admission for parents and caregivers. Childare is available for $2 per child.
