PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE

Building, Creating, and Learning Together!

Ayer/Yesterday, we held our first Hurricane Defender Challenge! More than 100 Kindergarten to Grade 6 students put their creativity, engineering skills, and problem-solving abilities to the test as they designed and built structures made entirely of cardboard.

Estudiantes/Students took on the challenge independently, with partners, in teams, and/or alongside family members. The results were impressive! Students, staff, and the many parents who joined us for one of our two assemblies were amazed by the creativity, ingenuity, and thoughtful design behind the structures.

This challenge was a wonderful example of STEM learning in action, bringing together creativity, collaboration, critical thinking, and family engagement.

Congratulations to all our Kindergarten to Grade 6 students and families! Thank you for embracing the challenge and helping us build a strong community of curious, creative, and innovative learners!

CBE and Glenmeadows School are committed to maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for our students, staff, and families.

On Tuesday, October 13, at 6:00 p.m., during the School Report at our School Council meeting, I will share information about the CBE Video Surveillance Project planned for Glenmeadows School. Most cameras will be located at the school's exterior corners, with two additional cameras in the hallways.

Familias/Families are welcome to attend, learn more about the project, ask questions, and share their thoughts or concerns. We value open communication and the opportunity to engage our school community in this important conversation. The meeting will take place in the school’s Learning Commons.

We will also share CBE’s plans for Glenmeadows School from 2026 to 2030, including information about school capacity and projected student enrolment. This will be an opportunity to learn more about our school's future planning.

We look forward to connecting with our families and continuing to work together to support a safe, welcoming, and well-planned learning environment for all.

MAKERSPACE DONATION DRIVE – ON NOW!!

Did you know that Glenmeadows has a makerspace closet where we house equipment and materials for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) learning? Many of the items are used up by students every year, so each fall we collect items to support STEM learning. The Glenmeadows teachers have compiled a wish list of items to support planned activities this year.

The Makerspace Donation Drive wish list is now posted on the Glenmeadows Volunteer sign up. Please consider signing up for a donation spot (or several). All items should be dropped off at the school no later than November 10, so that students can begin using these items in class. Every donation is greatly appreciated and helps to support STEM learning at the school.

Thank you!

Tengan un lindo fin de semana largo/Have a nice long weekend!
