In addition to incorporating STEM into classroom instruction, the entire school community participates in STEM challenges. Two weeks ago, students in Grades 5 and 6 showcased their Science Fair projects to students in Kindergarten through Grade 4. Parents of students in Grades 5 and 6 were invited to this event and expressed their admiration for the diverse range of challenges. We will host the Science Olympics on April 30th, during which students across the school will participate in age-appropriate STEM activities throughout the day.

SCHOOL UPDATES
EL DIA DE LA TIERRA/EARTH DAY
On Wednesday April 22, we are excited to celebrate Earth Day/ el Día de la Tierra as a school community! This special day encourages us to reflect on how we can care for our planet and make choices that help protect the environment. Students are invited to dress in azul/blue and verde/green to represent the Earth’s land and water. For an extra fun challenge, we invite students to create and wear a hat made from recycled materials—an opportunity to let their creativity shine!
To deepen the meaning of this day, we will begin with a brief assembly at 11:00, where we will share a land acknowledgement and a song to honour the Earth we live on. Following the assembly, we will walk to Turtle Hill as a whole school, where students will take part in a journaling activity - to reflect on how they can care for and protect our planet in thoughtful and meaningful ways. We look forward to celebrating this important day together 🌱
VACCINATION CATCH UP DAY
On Wednesday, April 22nd, students who were absent on March 31st will have the opportunity to get their vaccinations. This is mostly for grade 6 students.
