Estimadas Familias de EGS,

We had a fabulous return to school. We love hearing everyone’s stories from the break; we also welcomed back winter wonderland and students reminded us of the joy the many seasons have to offer in Calgary in a short time.

We extend our gratitude to our teachers and students for conducting an exemplary fire drill on the first day back to meet our emergency protocols. Additionally, we are excited to welcome two new staff members to EGS: Monserrat Rosas Benitez, Educational Assistant, and Kelan Li, Facility Operator.

We appreciate all parents and guardians who participated in the 2025 School Planning Parent Feedback, which closed on March 30. Your input is invaluable to our planning processes for the upcoming year. We had 117 respondents, and we will be sharing the results at our School Council meeting this Tuesday at 6 PM.

As we enter the final trimester of our curriculum, we hope that during conferences you were able to gain a clear understanding of your child's progress in their learning. If you were unable to attend the conferences, please connect with your child's teacher.

Our Physical Education Committee has scheduled activities involving Omnikin, designed to enhance our students' collaborative skills while promoting physical activity. Additionally, students have expressed excitement in reconnecting with their buddy classes to share their experiences and improve their literacy skills collaboratively. We also extend our thanks to the STEM Committee for organizing the latest STEM projects, which allowed students to engage in coding, community design, and critical thinking exercises. We appreciate our parent community rallying around us to purchase the Ozobots for cross disciplinary tasks – they are a big success!
