SABES QUE DEC 5, 2025
Estudiantes en/Students in grades 2, 4, 5 and 6 are actively preparing for the Winter Concert on December 16th. Their learning and celebrations are based on Alberta Education curricular outcomes in Music and the Spanish language and culture. For families whose children will present at the concert, please read the letter Sr. Casas will send today in its entirety, as there are several factors you can support your child with to help them be successful on this day.
Estamos orgullosos/We are proud to offer students a variety of classroom leadership opportunities. In addition to these, we provide whole-school leadership opportunities to grade 5 and 6 students through Hallway Monitors and Friends club. We have about 40 grade 5 and 6 students who love helping and will provide caring and respectful support to students and staff from December to May 2026. We are proud of all our school students and leaders for embracing the idea that “We are all in this together” and taking action to improve our school.
Nuestro/Our School Book Fair is on Thursday, 11th, as always, each class will have time to come to the library for 15 minutes to view the fair before Thursday. We encourage all families to continue their love for reading books through this opportunity. Please read all information in this Edition of Sabes Que for more information.
This afternoon, from 2 to 3:30 pm, our teachers, along with other Spanish bilingual teachers from other schools, benefited from our CBE Languages strategists' presentation on the Neuro-Linguistic Approach to teaching and learning Spanish. As a result of this professional development, teachers will implement the most effective and current methods for teaching Spanish in classrooms from Kindergarten to grade 12.
Tengan un lindo fin de semana!
With gratitude,
Ray Suarez
Principal

SCHOOL COUNCIL & SOCIETY UPDATES
MAKERSPACE DONATION DRIVE – ON NOW!!
Did you know that Glenmeadows has a makerspace closet where we house equipment and materials for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) learning? Many of the items are used up by students every year, so each fall we collect items to support STEM learning. This year’s drive is a little delayed, but many items are still needed to support student learning. The Glenmeadows teachers have compiled a wish list of items to support planned activities. The Makerspace Donation Drive wish list is now posted on the Glenmeadows Volunteer sign up.
Please consider signing up for a donation spot (or several). Every donation is greatly appreciated and helps to support STEM learning at the school. Thank you!
PRETTY UGLY SWEATER COLOURING CONTEST
Have fun creating a wonderfully ugly sweater! You can print off the photo, or copies are also available in the office. Return your completed masterpiece to the office by December 10th. A winner from Div I and Div II will be selected on December 12th and all art will be used to deck our halls!

So, curl up with a good book, and let the reading fun begin!
