SABES QUE FEB 11, 2026
Hoy/Today, our CBE Health and Safety Advisor conducted a whole-school inspection. All classrooms and areas met all requirements set by the Alberta Government. An area for improvement is our gym storage area. The storage area is too small to store all our P.E. equipment. We have a secondary gym storage area; however, it is also filled with P.E. equipment and large, heavy equipment such as volleyball posts and multiple large basketball hoops. To this end, the school administrative team and our School society are looking into purchasing a sea can storage. We are in the preliminary stages at this time.
Hoy/Today, students celebrated Amigos Day by wearing rosado (pink) or rojo (red). It was encouraging to see so many students participate and share the message of being in a school where all members collaborate in peace and enthusiasm. The focus is on being respectful, caring and helpful to everyone in our school.
Usted/You would have heard the tragic news in British Columbia. In situations like this, our message is that our school is safe and caring, with well-established safety protocols. At Escuela Glenmeadows School, we:
- Conduct Lockdowns twice per year, assisted by Calgary City Police
- Staff and students are vigilant of adults without a volunteer tag anywhere in the school or outside school areas
- Ask all adults to only use the office main doors to enter the school
- Staff are caring members who any student can feel safe to share their feelings with
We know that family members respond differently in situations like these. To this end, I would like to share the resources below in case anyone needs them.
- 2-1-1 – Alberta Help Line
- 8-1-1 – Alberta Health Services Health Link
- 9-8-8 – Suicide Crisis Help Line
- 403-266-HELP – Calgary Distress Centre
¡Mañana no hay Escuela! No hay Escuela el jueves, vierves ni lunes (dia de la familia). Enjoy these days with your family.
With gratitude,
Ray Suarez

SCHOOL COUNCIL & SOCIETY UPDATES
February is Project Kindness Month
Project Kindness is a school-wide initiative rooted in care, compassion, and community. It’s a way for us to quietly support families in our school who may be facing financial challenges, and to remind one another that we’re all in this together 🤍.
Throughout the month of February, we invite families to donate any unused gift cards they may have. These simple gestures can make a meaningful difference and will be shared with care within our school community 🤝.
The box will then remain in the school office for the rest of February for anyone who wishes to contribute.
Thank you for helping spread kindness, generosity, and warmth—one small act at a time.
💗 Pink Shirt Day – February 25 💗
