SABES QUE FEB 20, 2026

Despues de/After a very cold winter spell, students were finally able to go outside for recess and some fresh air today.  I appreciate students who show responsibility while engaged in table games and socializing.  A huge thank you to our noon supervisors and teachers for increasing body breaks throughout the day.

Nosotros/We have reorganized our gym storage for safety and ease of use.  Teachers will now be able to increase gym time by not having to sort through much gym equipment. We are appreciative of our School Council, which funds resources; many of the required bins were paid for by them from their P.E. Gym resources allocation.  ¡Muchas gracias!

SCHOOL UPDATES

CALGARY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL MATHEMATICS CONTEST

Escuela Glenmeadows division 2 students have been invited to participate in the Calgary Elementary School Mathematics Contest (CESMC) which is a mathematical contest organized annually by the Department of Mathematics and Computing at Mount Royal University. The contest will take place on Wednesday April 29, 2026,

It is important to know that this is not an examination.  The goal of the contest is to try to develop interest in mathematics in students by encouraging their participation in mathematical activities. We hope that all students who will prepare for and participate in the contest will enjoy themselves and benefit from the experience. Each student will receive a certificate of participation.

If you would like to look at their website you can look here: http://blogs.mtroyal.ca/cesmc/

More information will be in your homeroom teacher’s weekly message.

Thank you for your support!

DIA DE LA CAMISET ROSADA/PINK SHIRT DAY

We are proud to announce that Glenmeadows will be participating in Pink Shirt Day on Wednesday, February 25th. Pink Shirt Day is a national movement to raise awareness and show support for the fight against bullying and discrimination.

We encourage all students to wear a pink shirt or something pink on this day as a symbol of kindness, respect, and inclusion. By wearing pink, we are standing together to create a positive and supportive environment for everyone. Please check out the message below from School Council and Society on an option to purchase your pink shirt.

Thank you for your continued support in helping us spread this important message!

JAYWALKING & U-TURNS

Please choose safety over convenience when dropping off/picking up your child(ren) from the school.  Our supervisors have noticed an increase in both U-turns and jaywalking and want to remind families to plan ahead so you have the time to get your child(ren) to school grounds safely.

We appreciate your help with this!

SCHOOL COUNCIL & SOCIETY UPDATES

FEBRUARY IS PROJECT KINDNESS MONTH

Project Kindness is a school-wide initiative rooted in care, compassion, and community. It’s a way for us to quietly support families in our school who may be facing financial challenges, and to remind one another that we’re all in this together 🤍.

Throughout the month of February, we invite families to donate any unused gift cards they may have. These simple gestures can make a meaningful difference and will be shared with care within our school community 🤝.

The box will then remain in the school office for the rest of February for anyone who wishes to contribute.

Thank you for helping spread kindness, generosity, and warmth—one small act at a time.
