Anoche/Last night, we held our Kindergarten and Grade 1 Open House for families interested in our School. I would like to start by acknowledging the existing family's referral to families who are in this age range. Most of the families who attended shared concrete examples of our school's care, safety, and academic focus. In our presentation, attendees were impressed by our academic Spanish Language and culture programs and celebrations, our STEM focus (with annual top awards at the Calgary Youth Science Fair), and our extremely high PAT scores.
Me gustaria/I would like to celebrate another year of strong academic performance at our school. First, I would like to share that in every school, we aim to increase student achievement in literacy and numeracy by small margins, like a two percent increase, for example. As you will be able to analyze in the chart below, we are surpassing CBE and Alberta scores by as much as 27.4%. These are significant scores that attest to the contributions of our Kindergarten to grade 6 teachers, parents, school administration, and CBE support over the years.
Aunque/Although our Swim program is in April, we ask that parents start thinking about volunteering. Every year, we require male volunteers, particularly on a daily basis. If you do not have your volunteer clearance, now would be an ideal time to begin the process. Please visit this CBE page to learn how to get a police clearance.

🎉 SAVE THE DATE - ITS PARTY TIME!! 🎉
This year, in lieu of the Halloween dance, it will be the first ever Friendship Dance! It will be a fun filled night to celebrate our students, our community and to fundraise for the school.

🙌 VOLUNTEERS: All volunteer spots must be filled by January 31st for the party to proceed. To ensure all students and families can attend, we will open multiple rooms in the school with different activities. This means we will need more parents to help out! Watch for the signups coming here.

Did you know??? Funds spent on tickets, food and snack purchases go into the costs of the event as well as purchasing items for the school like library bags, dance residences, basket balls, computer carts, etc. It's these little things that our parents help fundraise for that make school more enjoyable for our children!
