PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE

Aye/Yesterday and today, we held Parent-Teacher Conferences.  It was an opportunity to hear from the teacher a progress review based on data and artifacts.  We trust that families have a strong understanding of students' strengths and growth areas, and what each stakeholder can do to support continued growth before the February report cards.

Nosotros/We thank our amazing School Council/Society for providing teachers with a lovely meal before conferences.  Muchas gracias for your kind and caring act!

Ayer/Yesterday was Dia de los Calcetines Locos/Crazy Socks Day. Thank you for supporting your children with a little bit of fun while they are learning.

Invierno/Winter is here in full force. To this end, thank you for:

  • Ensuring your children are on time
  • Children are warm, to and from school, with all their winter gear ready for recess times
  • Students are picked up from their designated doors/areas after school
  • Families do not park in the Hug and Go area, the School Parking lot or the back alley
  • Families continue to be respectful of traffic bylaws and pedestrians

Sabias Que/Did you know that this year, the Spanish Bilingual program will celebrate its 25th Anniversary?  How exciting!  On February 25 at 2:30 pm, all CBE Spanish program stakeholders will be invited to a special ceremony at Crescent Heights High School.  We will have our Chief Superintendent, Joe Pitman, and other guests to offer words of gratitude and inspiration to all attendees.

With gratitude,

Ray Suarez

Principal

REPORTING LICE

For health reasons and to prevent the spread, it’s important for families to notify the office immediately if you have found lice on your child(ren).  When we have this information, we can share it with their homeroom and Child’s Play so staff and families can take preventative measures to stop the spread.  Please know that your child(ren)’s confidentiality is very important to us, and we will never share a student’s identity when sharing information.

MAKERSPACE DONATION DRIVE – ON NOW!!

Did you know that Glenmeadows has a makerspace closet where we house equipment and materials for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) learning? Many of the items are used up by students every year, so each fall we collect items to support STEM learning. This year’s drive is a little delayed, but many items are still needed to support student learning. The Glenmeadows teachers have compiled a wish list of items to support planned activities. The Makerspace Donation Drive wish list is now posted on the Glenmeadows Volunteer sign up.

Please consider signing up for a donation spot (or several). Every donation is greatly appreciated and helps to support STEM learning at the school. Thank you!

🎄 HOLIDAY READING CHALLENGE 🎄

The Parent Council is excited to spread some holiday cheer with this year’s Holiday Reading Challenge!

For every 15 minutes of reading for 10 days, students will earn an entry into our holiday contest!🎉 We’ll be drawing two lucky winners in the new year—one from Division 1 and one from Division 2.

So, curl up with a good book, and let the reading fun begin!

Challenge Dates: December 20th, 2025 – January 4th, 2026 All entries must be submitted to the office by January 9th, 2026.
