Today was exciting, fun, yet academically focused. Halloween always brings a little bit of mystery as to what many students and staff members will dress up as. Students were proud of their costumes and celebrated each other's costumes as well. I appreciate your support with this! Most of our teachers celebrated with Red for Ed colours.
During these last couple of days, our focus has been on reconnecting, reassuring, and refocusing. During my classroom visits and conversations with teachers, I have found that students have adjusted quite well and are engaging in what matters again. Teachers had tasks that connected them to their students and classmates, as well they reviewed routines, expectations, and had solid, engaging lesson plans to support the adjustment period. We are truly fortunate to have such outstanding teachers in our school.
Please note that CBE is considering adjustments to assessment timelines, Report Cards, IPPs, other essential documents, and Parent-Teacher Conferences to provide teachers with a little more time to collect critical student data. We appreciate your understanding so that our reports will be meaningful and accurate. With that, we have also changed the date for our Winter Concert. It will now be on Tuesday, December 16th (more information to follow).
Our large electric gym screen has broken down and is irreparable. We are so grateful to our School Council parents for pledging the full cost ($5,000) to replace it. It is a significant amount of money that enable us to purchase essential and additional resources for our students. Muchas gracias padres!
In other exciting news, the line games in the compound areas have been completed! Our P.E. committee will organize support for teachers in teaching students how to play the various games.
Our students are cheering for the Jay’s tonight! If you are going trick-or-treating with your children, be warm and safe!
Tengan un buen fin de semana!
